We recently hired Gates Custom Homes to redo our kitchen/family room area, and flooring throughout the house. We are thrilled with the results! They were very honest and upfront with the potential costs and the time it would take to be completed. We were impressed with AJ’s attention to detail- he made sure that everything was done perfectly, and he was always available if we had any questions or concerns. Heidi was great at scheduling the sub-contractors so that no time was wasted, and our remodel was finished a little before the projected date. All of the sub-contractors were professional and skilled at their work. We would highly recommend Gates Custom Homes, and we will definitely use them again when we are ready for the next stage of remodeling our house (master bath) in McCormick Ranch.

We used Gates Custom Homes for a complete kitchen and master bathroom remodel – they transformed our late 1980’s kitchen and master bath into two Pinterest perfect rooms. After meeting with AJ and Heidi for our initial consultation/bid, we knew right away that we wanted to work with them and actually cancelled all of the other contractors that we had scheduled to come bid out our job – we knew they were going to be the perfect Scottsdale custom home builder to help us with our remodel and they did not disappoint. It never ceased to amaze me how much pride each of their subs took in their craft – drywall, tile, paint, electric, plumbing, etc. Gates kept us organized, was transparent when it came to budget and never made a decision without our involvement, they truly made the remodel look and feel easy! It was so fun to work with Gates Custom Homes and we were a little sad when the remodel was over, as we really enjoyed having the team become a part of our daily lives. If we didn’t love our new kitchen and master bath as much as we do, we would be out hunting for our next house in McCormick Ranch to have Gates come in and completely rebuild it! We not only would recommend using Gates Custom Homes to our family, friends and neighbors but truly can’t wait to work with them again.

I engaged AJ Gates to build a Master Suite, plus Powder Room addition for my newly purchased residence. The project was completed nearly 2-years ago and I am still very happy with the quality of construction, the “fit and finish” of the final result and my relationship with AJ, his contractors and associates. Gates Custom Homes did a complete remodel of our McCormick Ranch home. What began as a 2,500 sq/ft four bedroom two bath home is now a 3,000 sq/ft five bedroom three bath home. Throughout the entire process (~ five months) we encountered nothing but professional, timely, and courteous service from Mr. Gates and his sub-contractors. We were well informed and briefed prior to the beginning of the project to potential delays and or cost increases due to the age of our home. Mr. Gates accurately assessed the costs and the time required to complete the project. Prior to any modifications to the original plans, Mr. Gates would discuss the options and prices involved. We were never left without a choice, and we knew of the potential expenses that we could incur. Mr. Gates’ honesty is reassuring, and his focus on completing the project on time and with the customer satisfied is noteworthy. I would highly recommend Gates Custom Homes to anyone interested in quality work, timely completion, integrity of the contractor, and customer satisfaction. It has been four years since the finish of our remodel, and to date we have had zero issues regarding the quality of the workmanship or the value that it has added to our home.
